China's 5 Weirdest Cars You've Gotta See

01 Chevrolet EN-V

Technically not a Chinese car, since it was engineered by Chevrolet for the Chinese market. Still, as city cars go, it's at least less embarrassing than a Smart car. And its got a front-opening door like those micro-cars from the 1950s. There's something kind of cool about that.

02 ZAP Alias

This is an all-electric trike first displayed at the 2009 National Automobile Dealers Association in New Orleans. If China could manage a little better than 7.8 seconds to 60 mph and 100 miles worth of range, they might really have something with this one. Also, it needs a bigger rear wheel; this one looks like it came from a LEGO set.

03 Home-Built Lamborghini Reventon

How can you not love this guy? The builder's name is Wang Jian, and he was 28 years old when he built his own Reventon from an old Nissan van and some scrap iron. The whole car cost him about $9,500, which is roughly $990,500 less than the real thing. And frankly, you'd probably look cooler driving this one.

04 The ZD

This phone booth on wheels is an electric car that plugged into the public eye at China's Consumer Electronics show. If you think it looks a little like a Jazzy scooter with a weird body, you're wrong. A Jazzy can do 12 miles an hour - the ZD on lo miles an hour only.

05 Hardwood

Arguably the greatest car ever assembled. Much could be said about this masterpiece of ingenuity. But one question rises above all others. Who wins this race: Ecooter or Hardwood?
